Upgrade FM Combiner Systems for RTHK
From 2022 to 2024, we undertook a significant upgrade of the FM combiner systems for Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) across seven key FM transmission stations: Mount Gough, Cloudy Hill, Castle Peak, Golden Hill, Lamma Island, Beacon Hill, and Kowloon Peak. These stations operate with power ratings ranging from 5 kW to 10 kW, playing a crucial role in delivering quality broadcasting to the region.
Project Overview
Objective: The primary goal of this project was to enhance the existing FM transmission infrastructure to support the integration of a new FM channel, RTHK CMG/RGB (中央廣播電視總台粵港澳大灣區之聲), into the shared antenna system.
BTL supplied and installed state-of-the-art 8-channel FM combiner systems designed for optimal performance. This upgrade allows for seamless integration of the new channel while maintaining the integrity of existing broadcasts.

Key Benefits
Enhanced Efficiency: The upgraded combiner systems improve the operational efficiency of the FM transmission network, allowing for better signal quality and coverage across Hong Kong.
Increased Reliability: By modernizing the infrastructure, we have bolstered the reliability of the FM transmission system, ensuring consistent service delivery even during peak usage times.
Future-Ready Infrastructure: The new systems are designed to accommodate future expansion and technological advancements, positioning RTHK to adapt to changing broadcasting needs.
Conclusion
This comprehensive upgrade not only enhances the capabilities of RTHK’s FM transmission network but also reinforces its commitment to delivering high-quality broadcasting services to the community. We are proud to have contributed to this vital project and look forward to supporting RTHK in its future initiatives.
